Larnaka International Airport (Airport code: LCA) is located on the island of Cyprus in the Mediterranean south of Turkey and east of the Greek island of Rhodes. The airport is about three miles from Larnaka city and we recommend booking a hire car with pick-up at the airport to provide transportation to anywhere on the island. A new terminal was opened in 2008 and the airport is being expanded even further to cope with the growing number of visitors each year who are attracted by the sandy beaches and appealing climate. Public transport buses are available from bus stops outside the airport to various locations in Larnaca but you may find it easier to book a hire car in advance with pick-up at the Larnaka airport arrivals terminal. The car rental desk is directly in front of you as you come through the arrivals gate. This will allow you to freely explore the island. If you are planning to tour the island on a driving holiday then you may wish to order GPS SatNav at the time of booking. GPS equipment is not always readily available unless it has been pre-booked online.
